“Equity in Health and Health Care: A Roadmap to Collaborative Action” summarizes and expands upon key takeaway points and recommendations from the September 2021 virtual Health Equity Summit, co-hosted by Eli Lilly & Company and NEHI in collaboration with Avalere Health. The Roadmap outlines collaborations that can advance equitable health care and health outcomes for Americans who suffer from longstanding disparities and lists recommendations under three priority areas that impact health equity:

  • Digital health and connectivity

  • Data and analytics-driven health care

  • Supportive health access

In addition to recommendations under the above three fields, the Roadmap also outlines four principles for collaborative action among the private sector, community-based, and government organizations:

  • A shared strategic focus on equitable and measurable health outcomes

  • New commitment to non-traditional partnerships

  • New investment in community-based infrastructure that is critical to improving care and outcomes

  • Collaboration on advocacy to promote high-priority, time-sensitive changes in policy
